Untuk katgeori 'Best Motion Picture - Drama' dimenangkan oleh film 'Moonlight', kategori 'Best Performance in a Motion Picture – Drama' di raih oleh Casey Affleck di film 'Manchester At The Sea' dan Isabelle Huppert untuk film 'Elle'.
Aktris asal Prancis Isabelle Huppert membuat kejutan dengan menjadi aktris terbaik dan sukses mengalahkan nama-nama lain seperti Amy Adams, Jessica Chastain, Ruth Negga, dan Natalie Portman, yang lebih di unggulkan.
Malam itu, acara The 74th Golden Globes Awards yang di pandu oleh Host, Jimmy Fallon itu juga memberikan penghargaan khusus 'Cecil B.
